AlmaLinux HPC and AI SIG Proposal

We have a new SIG in the works! Hayden Barnes (HPE), Peter Grossoehme (MEGWARE), Markus Hilger (MEGWARE), and other AlmaLinux community members are working on an HPC and AI SIG. The goals of the SIG are to:

  • Promote the benefits of AlmaLinux for HPC and AI
  • Provide guidance and support for AlmaLinux users in HPC and AI
  • Represent the interests and needs of the HPC and AI community within AlmaLinux

You can check out the proposal that will be reviewed at the next AlmaLinux board meeting, and we welcome any feedback. If you are using AlmaLinux in HPC or for AI solutions we would love to hear from you!

SCaLE 21x, CloudFest, and AlmaLinux Day: Germany

This month we hosted our second ever AlmaLinux Day in Germany. We also attended SCaLE 21x, CloudFest, and hosted a CloudFest Hackathon project. In this blog post, we share what to know about each of these events for those who weren’t in attendance!

Upcoming Events

In April, we’re hitting the road again for a number of events!

  • We will be at FOSS Asia April 8-10! If you’re there, make sure to say hi and catch benny’s session
  • We’ll also be at Texas LinuxFest April 12-13, so come find us if you’re also there!
  • benny is speaking at and attending HEPiX April 15-19
  • On April 26-28, we’ll be at both PenguiCon and LinuxFest NW, so come find us if you’re at either one

The rest of the year is filling up, too, and we need your help! We’re looking for volunteers from the AlmaLinux community to help staff our booths. If you can dedicate at least 1/2 of an event to staffing a booth, fill out the Google form! We’ll cover your travel and hotel, and you’ll get a per-diem to help offset your food and assorted travel-related costs.
