Azure Endorsement
AlmaLinux achieved a significant milestone by becoming an “Endorsed Distribution” on Microsoft Azure, joining only six other distributions with this distinction. The Azure team announced this availability, and AlmaLinux celebrated the recognition of its community support.
AlmaLinux OS Kitten 10 Introduction
The project revealed a preview build called “AlmaLinux OS Kitten 10,” developed in anticipation of CentOS Stream 10’s eventual role as the RHEL 10 source. The team completed infrastructure setup and testing using CentOS Stream 10 code to prepare for the next major release.
Sponsorship Renewal
CloudLinux and TuxCare renewed their platinum-level sponsorship, continuing their commitment of $1 million in annual support since 2021.
AlmaLinux 9.5 Beta Release
Version 9.5 Beta “Teal Serval” became available across multiple architectures including x86_64, ARM64, PowerPC, and IBM Z systems.
FIPS Validation Achievement
AlmaLinux 9.2 kernel received FIPS 140-3 ESV certification, becoming the first EL9 distribution to achieve this certification for the kernel and the first implementation using SHA3-256 as a conditioner.
Community Engagement
The project launched a Spanish-language chat channel and seeks volunteers for swag shop management and forum support. Upcoming events include conferences across Japan, Italy, Washington, Ohio, and Georgia through November.
