AlmaLinux 9.5 Stable Release: The foundation announced general availability of AlmaLinux OS 9.5, codenamed “Teal Serval.” Installation ISOs are available across four architectures: x86_64, aarch64, ppc64le, and s390x, with torrent downloads also provided.
New Sponsors: Fastly joined as a new silver sponsor member, while AMD and world4you renewed their sponsorships, demonstrating growing industry confidence in the project.
Community Engagement Opportunities
The newsletter highlights two key volunteer opportunities:
Forum Support: The AlmaLinux forums experience increasing traffic, and community members are encouraged to help answer questions from sysadmins, developers, and DevOps professionals.
FOSDEM 2025 Volunteers: The Linux Distributions room at FOSDEM needs volunteers for door management, speaker announcements, and audience coordination. Those interested should join the FOSDEM Distributions Devroom mailing list.
Event Updates
Community members represented AlmaLinux at multiple November events including openSUSE.Asia, OSS Summit Japan, SeaGL, SFSCON, OLF, and SC ‘24. The foundation is planning an expanded 2025 event schedule and seeking booth staff through a Google Form signup, offering travel and hotel coverage for volunteers.
